The Lakeland 3000ers – a 3000 footers guided walk

The Lake District National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which includes 4 mountains over 3000ft – Skiddaw (3054ft/931m), Helvelyn (3117ft/950), Scafell (3162ft/964m) and Scafell Pike (3209ft/974m). These mountains known as the Lakeland 3000ers are often climbed as a 24 hour challenge. However, for those who want to travel at a more leisurely pace Threesixteen are now offering this magnificent mountain expedition as a 4 day wild camping trip, providing time to savour the stunning 360 degree views, glistening lakes, streams and waterfalls.

This 3000 footers guided walk will start and finish in Keswick and with the ever changing mountain architecture we will enjoy the rounded volcanic hills of the North Lakes and the rugged buttresses and outcrops of the volcanic Southern and Eastern Fells. After an awesome days walking we will find a quiet wild camp where we will rest, cook and enjoy solitude, sunsets and sunrises. If we are not too tired we may also marvel at the magnificent starlit night sky.

This is a demanding walk and for many walkers a testing challenge. However, your guide will set a comfortable and sustainable pace and will do everything he can to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience. This is a rewarding journey in its own right but also a great way to raise money for a charity close to your heart. The Welsh 3000ers – a 3000 footers guided walk

The Welsh 3000ers can be completed as a tough 24 hour challenge however Threesixteen offer an alternative 4 day expedition climbing all the 3000ft peaks of Wales in one continuous journey. After summiting Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and England, you will traverse the rock shattered Glyders, climb the famous Tryfan (often called Britain’s favourite mountain) and explore the stunning and remote Carneddau.

After a day enjoying majestic mountains, airy ridges and breath taking views we will find a wild mountain campsite, cook together and enjoy the solitude with its stunning sunsets, sunrises and the starry night sky.

Your guide will set a comfortable and sustainable pace and will do everything he can to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience. Over the 4 days walking we may encounter a range of weathers and in the event of poor conditions it may not be possible, for safety reasons, to summit all 15 peaks. Brecon Beacons 10 Peaks – a multiday guided walk

The Brecon Beacons is Britain’s most southerly mountain range. These beautiful mountains are the play ground of the elite SAS and the Brecon Beacons 10 peaks challenge forms a stunning  mountain expedition. This 4 day, 90km journey climbs over 4800m  and provides superlative views from the iconic red sandstone ridges and escarpments over mid-Wales to the north and the Seven Estuary to the south. Starting from Tal-y-Bont reservoir you will traverse the iconic Pen-y-Fan and Corn Du before continuing to the routes most westerly point  Bannau Sir Gaer, the Black Mountain (not to be confused with the Black Mountains). The mountains climbed during this trip are:

  4. Bannau Sir Gaer (749m)
  5. Fan Gyhirych (725m)
  6. Fan Nedd (663m)

Depending upon the time of year this expedition may include wild camping, youth hostels or involve a mixture of both. On the nights spent camping we will find after walking a secluded wild campsite where we  can enjoy the solitude, rest, cook and enjoy stunning sunsets and sunrises. The Brecon Beacons is an International Dark Sky reserve and if we are not to tired we may also marvel at the milky way and bright starlit sky.
